Non-Medical Services

Helping with your caregiving needs 24-hrs a day, 7-days a week.

Our Non-Medical Services range from Companion Care through to Personal Care and Nursing - everything from keeping you company and helping with light housekeeping to administering medications and changing dressings on wounds. We also offer our caregivers specialized training in Acquired Brain Injury Care, Alzheimer's/Dementia Care, End of Life (Palliative) Care and Diabetes Care. All of these services are available in home or wherever someone is living - such as a retirement home or long-term care community. Following are the services provided:

1) Personal Care Attendants

Care First provides personal support for everyday activities such as getting in and out of bed, bathing and dressing, to dental hygiene or grooming.

2) Certified Nursing Assistants

Our qualified personnel are available to assist with administering medication, changing dressings, intravenous therapy, pain and symptom management, chronic disease management and therapy, foot care, ventilator care, and serious injury care.

3) Respite Care

Taking care of an elderly loved one offers many rewards, but can also take a toll on your personal life.

Care First offers family caregivers temporary relief from caring for individuals with various needs. An essential part of an overall home care support strategy, respite care is offered in the home or in a variety of out-of-home settings for any length of time. Care First's respite care helps reduce family stress - helping preserve the family unit, support family stability and prevent lengthy and costly out-of-home care.

4) Home Health Aides

Home Health Aide (HHA) services including: companion, respite, personal care.

5) Homemakers

This service provides assistance with the day-to-day tasks that are required in the upkeep of a household, including dusting and cleaning, laundry and meal preparation.

6) Companion Services

Our Caregivers are available for individualized activities such as visiting, playing cards, reading a book, or sharing a hobby. We can also help care for a pet or take walks in the neighbourhood.

7) Hourly or Live-In Caregivers

If there is ever a time you require constant support, our Caregivers will provide the personal and domestic care, and the companionship you need on an around-the-clock basis.
